Janet Armstrong is a Fibre Artist with a particular passion for seeing the possibilities of neckties - "the little bits of gorgeous silk that used to hang around a man's neck". With her first commission in 2007 to create 5 stoles for a United Church Minister, Janet employed her creativity and keen eye for colors, textures, and shapes - she began repurposing collections of neckties into Custom Clerical Stoles. Each piece is designed to uniquely represent the owner using particular garments and colours which have special meaning to the wearer. Today, Janet's Liturgical Stoles are commissioned and celebrated by Ministers around the world!
Janet has also co-created a Knitting Retreat to develop independence and a deeper appreciation for the knitting process. Since 1999, it has been bringing together knitters of all levels. Join Janet and friends for the 18th Annual Okanagan Knitting Retreat, May 27 - 29, 2016.
Janet has now retired. It's been a pleasure working for many years with this wonderful client!
